★ The Constitutional Reforms Committee was appointed.
★ The Communist Party originated in Telangana. The Party unit was started in Hyderabad
★ Andhra Sahitya Parishat was formed in Hyderabad.
★ Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was appointed as president of Majlis Ithehadul Muslimeen party.
★ Majlis Ithehadul Muslimeen party appoints Razakar force as its auxiliary unit for the first time.
★ Diwan Bahadur L.Venkata Krishna Ayyar designed the Sri Ramapada Sagar project, popularly known as the Polavaram project.
★ The State Bank of Hyderabad was established on 8th August.
★ Quit India movement started in Hyderabad.
★ The Hyderabad Aalwyn and Metals firm was established.
★ Prajasakti magazine was started on 17th June.
★ A vertical division had taken place between mod-erates and extremists in Andhra Maha Sabha
★ The Niloufer Hospital was established in Hyderabad.
★ Khasim Razvi becomes president of the Majlis Ithehadul Muslimeen party. Razvi imparts mili¬tary training to Razakars.
★ Mir Laya Ali becomes the prime minister of Hyderabad state on 10th June.
★ Ban on Hyderabad State Congress was lifted in July.
★ The regional associations – Andhra Maha Sabha and Maharashtra Parishat were merged into the Hyderabad State Congress.
★ The farmers’ struggle of Telangana started. Elections to Madras Assembly were held. Tanguturu Prakasam Panthulu formed government.
★ The Communist Party was banned in the native state of Hyderabad.
★ The Communists begin armed struggle in April.
★ 7th August was observed as Join India day.
★ The Nizam declared his independence on 12th June, 1947.
★ The Nizam government banned hoisting of National flag in the Hyderabad state on 15th August on the eve of independence.
★ The Hyderabad Stock Exchange began function¬ing on 14th November.
★ Stand Still agreement was signed between the Nizam and the Union of India on 29th November.
★ K.M. Munshi was appointed as Indian represen-tative in the Hyderabad state.
★About 3000 villages were liberated from the Nizam’s rule. The Razakars raided the villages and slaughtered hundreds of Hindus with the support of the Nizam. But the Communists offered tough resistance.
★The Nizam appeals to the UNO to recognise the native state of Hyderabad as an independent state on 21st August.
★The Razakars kill Shoyabullah Khan, editor of Imroz for his pro Indian stance.
★Razakars raid on the village Bairanpally, Warangal district on 25th August.
★Police action on Hyderabad begins on 13th September.
★Police action on Hyderabad ends on 17th September and the state of Hyderabad joins the Union of India.
★Khasim Razvi, the Razakar leader was arrested on 23rd September.
★Major General J.N. Chaudary functioned as the military ruler of Hyderabad state from September 18 to December 1949.
★Tungabhadra project was inaugurated by the Madras government and the Hyderabad government.

★Fazl Ali Commission was appointed on 22nd December.
★Khammam district was formed on 1st October.

★ The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) was started in Hyderabad on 11th April.
★ 3rd and 4th units of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station were started on 15th July.
★ The Prime Minister Indira Gandhi released waters from Nagarjuna Sagar on 4th August.

★ Kumar Lalith Committee was formed this year.
★ Journalists formed Telangana Journalists Association on 1st June.
★ Telangana Pradesh Congress came into being with Konda Lakshman Bapuji as its president on 1st Jiine.
★ V.V. Giri was elected as President of India on 24th August. Maqdum Mohiyuddin died on the same day. The Prime Minister announced 8 point formula to solve the Telangana problem. Situation worsened in the agitation on 4th June. Violence and police firing was held. Many dead. 33 hours curfew in Hyderabad.
★ Madapati Hanumantha Rao, an eminent social worker and former chairman of Legislative Council died on 11th November.
★ Andhra Pradesh High Court delivered its final judgment on Mulki rules on 9th. December.
★ Air Force Academy at Dindigal was inaugurated on 10th January.
★ Telangana Praja Samiti contested all the 14 Lok Sabha seats except Bhadrachalam and won 10 seats out of them.
★ Telangana Praja Samiti merged into Congress
★ Five point formula was evolved.
★ P.V. Narasimha Rao was sworn in as chief minister on 25th September.
★ Begumpet Airport was inaugurated on 31st January.
★ The Supreme Court clarifies that Mulki rules are valid. The then chief minister P.V. Narasimha Rao comments that the Supreme Court’s ruling on Mulki rules vindicated the Congress stand on the issue.
★ The Prime Minister Indira Gandhi presented her 8 point formula on 27th November.
★ In the background of separate Andhra agitation the chief minister P.V. Narasimha Rao resigned his post and president’s rule was imposed in January.
★ Article 3 7 ID was created through the 32nd Constitutional amendment.
★ The construction of Sri Ram Sagar Dam was completed.
★ The Centre announced six point formula and abolished the Mulki rules on 1st September.

★ Mrs. Sharada Mukheijee was sworn in as gover¬nor of Andhra Pradesh on 19th April.
★ Justice Bhargava, retired judge of Supreme Court was appointed to inquire into alleged excesses on naxalites.

★ The Governor issued an ordinance reducing the voter age to 18 for the elections of local bodies on 9th June.

★ October 7: Dr. Ravikumar, famous cardiologist, Care hospital, Hyderabad created a record by transplanting the mitral valve with the help of robo for the first time in the country.
★ April 16: M.C.H. will be called as ‘Greater Hyderabad’ hereafter. In addition to M.C.H. 12 municipalities and 8 village panchayats were included in Greater Hyderabad Municipal corpo-ration.
★ May 21: Justice Usha Mehra assumed office as a chairperson of S.C. classification commission.
★ June 3: Bomb explosion in Mecca masjid. Appointment of a commission with High Court former Justice V.Bhaskara Rao on this mishap.
★ June 5: Singareni Collieries company got the award of ‘Indira priyadarsini’ for the year 2004. This award will be given to those who rendered best services for the protection of environment every year by the Indian Govt.
★ August 2: Govt, appointed High Court Retd. Justice I.Panduranga Rao to investigate the event that lead to Mudigonda firings at Khammam district, in Andhra Pradesh
★ August 4: The name of ‘Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages’ changed as ‘The English and Foreign Languages University”.
★ August 18: Gangadevipalli (Gisukonda man- dalam, Warangal dist.) was selected for the award ‘Rajiv Gandhi best grama panchayati puraskaram’ for the year 2007. This award will be given to the village which is a best village pan- chayat in the country.

★ November 4: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurated the Alisagar lift Irrigation scheme in a programme organised at Janakampeta, Edapalli mandalam, Nizama bad district.

★ July 2: ‘Why I am not a Hindu’ written by Prof. Kanche Ailaiah, Prof, of Political Science in Osmania University, selected for the award London Institute of South Asia’. This book described the lives of the people of Telangana. This is one among the five books of this millenni¬um mentioned by special issue of pioneer, this is the first dalit bahujana vada’ book which got international award.

★ October: Inauguration of P.V.Narasimha Rao express way by Rosaiah. This express way was constructed as a link way to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport which is a first greenfield International Airport in the country. This is the longest fly over in the country. The length of this flyover is 11.66 k.m. This fly over • starts at Sarojinidevi Eye hospital at Mehedipatnam ends at Aramgharh.

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao. The name Mission Kakatiya is given in the remembrance and tribute to the Kakatiya rulers who developed large number of the Irrigation tanks.
